I’ve done too much writing today already, so this will be a short one. The aquifer is just about empty, which means it’s time to let it recharge.
Anyway, today in things I can’t quite recommend with a straight face: Record of Lodoss War. Lately I’ve been savoring the Madhouse miniseries from ‘911; it’s a high-fantasy epic that takes place in a broken world, and takes more than a little inspiration from Dungeons & Dragons. If you’re the kind of person who enjoys anything I mentioned in that last sentence, you should probably give the first episode a shot.
Otherwise: this week I came across a really fun piece of software called GB Studio, which lets you create Game Boy games using a visual scripting language. It was created by the London-based software developer Chris Maltby, and is super easy and fun to use — and you don’t need to know how to program to make games with it. I got a bit sucked in this week. You should give it a try, is what I’m saying.
Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for you. I hope you’ve had a wonderful week; let me know if you try either Lodoss or GB Studio.
Yours,
Bijan
